]]>I have a special love for the rain forests of the Olympic peninsula, having grown up near the Quinault Valley and its beautiful rain forest. I have attempted to emphasize the shades of green of this area in order to try to quantify my feelings and respect for the rain forest milleu. The rain forests are very difficult to photograph. The detail is enormous, and the light is harsh at times. I have tried to whittle the images down to the basic subjects, and this is an ongoing quest.

This particular group emphasizes the myriad greens that fill the senses when traveling through the semi-jungled terrain. The natural saturation of the shades of green are almost overwhelming.

]]>This is a select group of high country scenes. The Olympic Mountains harbour a shining jewel of mountain peaks, glaciers, meadows, waterfall, flowers, and upland forests. The interior mountains are as pristine as when they were first explored by American pioneers before the turn of the 20th century. I have spent almost my entire life of 64 years traveling in these wonderful mountains, both on trails and off-trail. Truly a place of magic light and magic scenes. Is it no wonder that these mountains provide an emotional link between man, Earth, and sky?
